Rapper Tim Dog, whose 1991 song "F--- Compton" was one of the early strikes in the East Coast-West Coast rap war of the 1990s, has died at 46, The Source reports. The hip-hop publication says the New York rapper, born Tim Blair, died Thursday of a seizure after battling diabetes.

"F--- Compton" was on Tim Dog's 1991 debut album, "Penicillin on Wax." The song directly calls out members of Compton rap group N.W.A., and in the video, Tim Dog and friends burn sports jerseys from Los Angeles teams such as the Kings and Lakers.?

In June 2012, "Dateline NBC" aired a special, "The Perfect Catch," about Tim Dog's relationships with women who claimed he had defrauded them, sparking up romantic relationships and convincing them to give him money he never repaid.

The rapper had pled guilty to grand larceny in that case in 2011. He entered an Alford plea, in which he did not admit the crimes but recognized that there was sufficient evidence for a trial. He was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $19,000 restitution.
